Like all our trips, the activities are free or included in the price and you can choose to do as much or as little as you want with us. Edinburgh We think the capital of Scotland is one of the most beautiful citys in the world (your finger's going to hurt from all the photos you'll take!). As soon as we arrive, our local friend Kevin will show us the famous sights - Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Palace of Holyroodhouse, Scottish Parliament - and some of his favourite not-so-well-known places - down the mysterious, winding backstreets of Edinburgh's Old Town. There may even be time for a coffee at the birthplace of Harry Potter. Arthur's Seat On Sunday morning (if you didn't 'taste' too much whisky on Saturday night!), Kevin's taking us up Arthur's Seat. It's a big, extinct, volcano at the end of the Royal Mile, next to the Scottish Parliament. It's quite high, and you'll be glad you had your breakfast, but the views across Edinburgh are amazing. Itinerary Saturday day • Leave home quite early and drive up to Edinburgh • Go straight out to explore the sights of Edinburgh with our Edinburgh friend, Kevin • Freetime - we've got loads of ideas! Saturday evening • Kevin's taking us to a place on the Royal Mile which serves traditional Scottish dishes • Join us for dinner* and try some Haggis (traditional, tasty Scottish dish) • Then come with us for a whisky, go out to a late café, or back to our hostel to relax. Sunday morning • After breakfast come with us to the top of Arthur’s Seat (an extinct volcano) for city views • Free time to explore more of Edinburgh Sunday afternoon • In the afternoon we leave Edinburgh and head back south to England What’s included? 2 days and 1 night in the capital city of Scotland - Edinburgh. • Travel to and from Edinburgh in our own private, comfy bus • 1 night accommodation - an excellent, friendly, safe and secure youth hostel in central Edinburgh • Continental breakfast • Edinburgh walks with our local friend - see all the sights • Evening out in Edinburgh with us (dinner not included*) • Walk up Arthur's Seat (an extinct volcano) • Information sheet (what to see & do in Edinbrugh) & map • Most Edinburgh museums & galleries are free, we'll show you which ones What's not included? Places we visit are free to see, but you may have to pay if you want to enter. We'll tell you which are free and how to get discount in the others (sometimes a smile isn't enough!) *Lunch & dinner are not included, but we know lots of inexpensive places to buy food & drink. (If you come out with us on Saturday night, the meal will cost less than £10.)
